 About me:

I am a writer and historian with a passionate appetite for knowledge, especially for superficial, marginal, unim-portant details of the past and ways by which they shape our world today. This tendency has led some of my colleagues to argue that kitsch is my research interest. Well, kitsch has a history too, and I take seriously what I do.

I have edited two volumes of articles in the past and my first book, Creating the Modern Iranian Woman: Popular Culture between two Revolutions was published in November 2019 by Cambridge University Press.

Following the outbreak of Covid-19 many of the events scheduled for the promotion of my book were cancelled or postponed, so the virtual space seems to be the only safe place to introduce my book after many years of research.
